1. Your student

A few details let us match scholarships and estimate your real costs. Everything stays in your browser until you choose to email your plan.

2. What will college cost?

Pick a path. Defaults are 2025-26 national average budgets from the College Board (tuition, fees, housing, food, books and personal costs) - adjust any number to your student's actual schools.

3. How far will your savings go?

See what your current savings could grow to by freshman year, the gap that remains, and what it would take monthly to close it. A 529 plan grows tax-free when used for education - most states, including Texas, offer one, and anyone can open one.

529 plan basics in 60 seconds

A 529 is a state-sponsored account where college savings grow tax-free and withdrawals for qualified education costs (tuition, housing, books, up to $10,000 of student loans) are tax-free too. Texas families can use any state's plan. Money in a parent-owned 529 has a small effect on financial aid. You can change the beneficiary to another family member if plans change.

4. Scholarship finder

Real, verified programs - not a sweepstakes mill. Every listing shows when we last checked it.

5. My scholarship list

Everything you save lands here with its deadline. Track your essays, export the deadlines to your calendar, and see how your list stacks up against your cost gap.

No scholarships saved yet. Use the Save button on any scholarship above.

6. Federal aid & FAFSA

The 2027-28 FAFSA is open now (it launched earlier than ever this fall). File as early as you can - some aid is first come, first served, and many colleges and states set their own priority deadlines. File free at studentaid.gov.

This is a rough planning estimate, not an official calculation. Your official Student Aid Index comes from the FAFSA itself.

7. Your timeline by grade

8. Compare award letters

When acceptance letters arrive, compare what each college actually costs your family - the sticker price is rarely the real price.

9. If you borrow

A quick look at what student loans mean after graduation. Rule of thumb: keep total borrowing under your expected first-year salary, and monthly payments under 10% of gross monthly income.

10. Get your written plan

We will email a copy of your complete plan - costs, savings projection, scholarship list and next steps - and send a heads-up to our team so we can help if you want us to. Your results stay on screen either way.
